Rep. Jack Rader is set to host a shredding and cleanup event at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond on October 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., regardless of weather conditions. The service is free for Monroe County residents.
“My staff and I are pleased we can once again provide these services to residents, along with our partners,” said Rader. “This event has proven to be popular as folks take advantage of the opportunity to safely dispose of sensitive paperwork or things they no longer need.”
Residents will also have the chance to replace illegible license plates, with inspections conducted by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. Pre-registration is necessary by contacting Rader’s district office or visiting his website.
The event location is the parking area in front of the raceway ticket office at 1234 Long Pond Road. Attendees should stay in their vehicles while staff members handle disposal items.
Purple Paper Eaters Document Destruction Services will perform on-site shredding, limited to four boxes per vehicle.
Accepted items include up to four old tires without rims collected by The Waste Authority, unwanted prescription drugs gathered by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, faded flags taken by American Legion Post 413 Pocono Lake, prescription eyewear and hearing aids collected by the Lions Club, and gently used children’s books gathered by Clymer Library.
