Freeport Area School District issued the following announcement.
The Pennsylvania Department of Education requires that a Health and Safety Plan be developed, approved by your local School Board, posted to your public website, and submitted to PDE before resuming face-to-face activities in local districts.
To our families and entire school community: It is essential to note that this document should be considered a draft—it should be viewed as a living, breathing document that should be expected to change in the coming weeks and months as conditions, guidance, and mandates change. This plan represents a best-case scenario and the least restrictive we could possibly anticipate. Should the plan change, it would only be likely to get more restrictive. Of course, as federal, state, and local governments enact measures, we will need to be responsive to those as well. Be assured of continued communications should anything change. In the meantime, our District is preparing for any and all contingencies that could occur at any time — we would encourage our entire school community to proactively do the same.
