Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm in Hamilton Township, Monroe County, has been awarded a Cultural and Historical Support Grant of $5,000 by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC), according to Rep. Jack Rader (R-Monroe).
“Preserving our past for future generations is so important. I am pleased Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm was approved for this funding,” said Rader.
Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm offers various programs and activities throughout the year exploring the agricultural cycle, livestock practices, cuisine, community celebrations, social customs, and technology of a typical Pennsylvania German family farm in the 19th century.
The goal of the Cultural and Historical Support Grant program is to strengthen the Commonwealth’s museum community by supporting the general operations of eligible museums and official county historical societies that are not assisted by other state agency funding programs. PHMC today approved $1.9 million in funding for 158 eligible museums and historical societies in 58 counties. Grants were awarded using a formula based on a percentage of each organization’s annual operating budget.
