Greater Pocono Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Dec. 22.

Bushkill resident Roy Horton is returning to manage the Raymour & Flanigan in Stroudsburg. Roy has spent the last few years managing R&F locations in Wilkes Barre, Brooklyn, Staten Island and Allentown.

Roy joined Raymour & Flanigan in 2015 and has had much success leading sales teams for the organization. In 2017, Roy was in the news for donating his kidney to an employee in one of his locations and in 2018, Roy was awarded the company’s coveted “Spirit Award”. Previous to this, Roy served as Vice President of Operations for Dunkelberger’s Sports Outfitter, where he led a team retrofitting the old Kinsley’s Shoprite and opening Dunkelberger’s Brodheadsville location.

Roy has volunteered his time serving as an elected school board director for the East Stroudsburg Area School District as well as serving on the board for the Monroe County Technical Institute.

In 2010, Roy was selected by the Red Cross for their “Movers and Shakers” campaign, highlighting Roy’s work in organizing successful blood drives.

Roy and his wife Marisela have been married for 25 years and have lived in Bushkill since 1999. Their son Matthew is stationed in Alaska as a 1st Lieutenant for the Bravo Battery 2-377 Parachute Field Artillery Regiment and their Daughter Barbara attends an ESASD elementary school.

Roy has always enjoyed his relationship with the Chamber of Commerce and is looking forward to continuing this relationship while being back on his old stomping grounds.
