Allegheny-Clarion Valley School District issued the following announcement.
Allegheny-Clarion Valley SD Update: April 7, 2020
The academic enrichment program for all A-CV students will begin on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at 8 am. Families can find the link to our enrichment program through the acvsd.org webpage or through the A-CV Facebook page beginning at 8 am Wednesday. To access the program, you will need to click on the Enrichment, Review & Practice tab and find your child’s appropriate grade level or subject matter. Kindergarten materials are located on the left and you will be able to access the HS academic classes by scrolling to the right.
Materials provided will be for student selected enrichment or review. If you need access to technology for the enrichment activities, you will need to call the A-CV Jr/Sr High school at 724-659-4661. Completion expectations will be based exclusively on local family decisions. Families are facing an unprecedented and extraordinary hardship at this time. The district will not enforce work completion during this time; we will instead offer optional, appropriate, and reasonable materials for enrichment and review to offer opportunities for academic development while seeking to also use school based platforms to create a sense of normalcy.
Attendance frequency and accountability as well as completion of any presented resource work will be family driven. Due to obstacles in regional infrastructure, as well as the burdens placed on families, the Allegheny-Clarion Valley School District will make all work during a school closure optional. There will be no specific attendance requirements as each A-C Valley family faces different challenges and the current situation is fluid.
Attention High School Parents, if you wish to purchase a High School yearbook, the final day to do so is still Friday, April 24, 2020. There will be NO extra yearbooks ordered. Cost is $53 (checks made out to ACV Yearbook). Order your yearbook online at www.acvsd.org (click on buy your yearbook). Extra order forms are also available ONLINE. Since school is closed, you can mail your pictures to: Cindy King, 3138 Lime Plant Road, Parker, PA 16049 OR email to: acvyearbook@gmail.com.
