Rader to Hold Identity Theft Seminar April 4

BLAKESLEE – Rep. Jack Rader (R-Monroe) is once again partnering with the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General to host an identity theft seminar aimed at educating residents about the growing threat of identity theft and how to protect themselves. The event is scheduled for Thursday, April 4, at 6 p.m., at the Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Department in Reeders.

Rader emphasized the importance of raising awareness about identity theft, stating, “Identity theft continues to be one of the fastest-growing crimes in the country and scammers are constantly coming up with new ways to trick us into providing our personal information.” He added, “This seminar is an easy way for residents to learn how to protect themselves from becoming a victim.”

The seminar, to be led by David Shallcross, director of the senior protection unit at the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, will cover various topics including what to do if one falls victim to identity theft, tips on safeguarding personal information online and in everyday interactions, and guidelines on identifying scams designed to steal one’s identity.
