Rep. Jack Rader of Monroe announced that the Commonwealth Financing Authority has allocated over $1.4 million in Local Share Account grants to projects within the 176th Legislative District. These funds, derived from gaming revenues, are designated for infrastructure improvements and public safety initiatives.
“These investments make a real difference, supporting infrastructure improvements and public safety projects that directly impact daily life in our communities,” said Rader. “I’m proud to partner with local officials to help secure this state funding and bring these important resources back home.”
The distribution of grants includes several key allocations: Chestnuthill Township will receive $253,445 for stormwater management system enhancements along Woods Crossing. Monroe County is set to receive $35,000 for door replacement at the Burn Building Training Facility located in Hamilton Township.
The Monroe County Industrial Development Authority has been granted funds for various purposes including $56,328 for acquiring a Polaris Ranger emergency vehicle and skid unit for Blue Ridge Hook and Ladder Fire Company; $90,000 earmarked for rehabilitating a historic stone bridge in Eldred Township; and $43,444 dedicated to purchasing portable radios for Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Company.
Other notable grants include $175,824 intended for repairing a hillside retaining wall at Kunkletown Volunteer Fire House and $100,000 allocated towards procuring an EMS vehicle for LVHN EMS. Additionally, an HVAC replacement at Masonic Lodge in Hamilton Township will be funded with an $85,000 grant.
Further allocations involve lifesaving rescue equipment and tanker tools acquisition worth $43,713 for Polk Township Volunteer Fire Company; demolition of hazardous structures coupled with parking facility safety improvements totaling $150,000 for R.A.T.T. Rentals LLC in Jackson Township; kitchen equipment expansion valued at $26,041 for Smoking Pigs and Boils LLC in Chesnuthill Township; restoration efforts of the Old Township Post Office alongside Eldred Township Historical Society costing $23,100; plus refrigeration alongside technology equipment installation within West End Food Pantry’s gymnasium budgeted at $310,950 situated inside Eldred Township.
Local Share Account grants facilitate economic development alongside job training opportunities while promoting community betterment projects through gaming funds sanctioned under Act 71 enacted back during 2004.
