State Representative Jack Rader announced that Monroe County will receive $900,000 in state funding for several local projects. The funds have been allocated to three townships for infrastructure and equipment improvements.

Chestnuthill Township is set to receive $400,000 to develop a comprehensive stormwater management system along Woods Crossing. Polk Township will use $228,154 from the grant to purchase a wheel loader for municipal operations. Tunkhannock Township has been awarded $271,846 for upgrades at Tunkhannock Township Park.

Rader acknowledged the role of local officials in identifying these needs. “I want to express my appreciation to our local officials for recognizing these needs within our community,” said Rader. “These projects will be important for making improvements in the 176th District. This will allow the townships to complete enhancements without impacting taxes charged to their local residents.”

The funding aims to support necessary township enhancements while avoiding additional tax burdens on residents.
