There was a single gas station in cities across Monroe County selling diesel at the lowest price of $4.47 per gallon in the week ending Feb. 10, according to GasBuddy.com.
The average cost of diesel in cities within Monroe County was $4.58 per gallon.
Of the nine gas stations in cities within Monroe County, two offer diesel.
The average price of diesel in Pennsylvania was $4.46, compared to $4.44 the week before.
Experts predict gasoline prices could drop below $3 this year before rebounding closer to $4 by year’s end. GasBuddy forecasted a national average of $3.38 per gallon, down from $3.51. An outlook published in late 2023 suggests that gas rates will continue to fall in 2024.
