A public hearing on the development of data centers in Pennsylvania will be held in Archbald on August 11. The event was requested by Sen. Rosemary M. Brown (R-40) and will be hosted by the Senate Majority Policy Committee, which is chaired by Sen. Dave Argall (R-29). The hearing is scheduled to take place from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at Valley View High School Auditorium.

According to Brown, the purpose of the hearing is to provide residents with reliable information and create opportunities for dialogue as interest in data center proposals grows throughout the region and the state. “As data center proposals continue to emerge across our region and the commonwealth, it is critical that we provide residents with access to reliable information and create opportunities for informative dialogue,” said Brown. “This hearing will help inform residents, local leaders, and policymakers about the operations of data centers and the role of state government in their development and oversight.”

Panelists are expected to include participating senators as well as Nathan Gerace, northeast director for U.S. Sen. Dave McCormick (R-PA). Additional participants may join, according to organizers.

The roundtable will be streamed live on the Senate Majority Policy Committee’s website so that those unable to attend in person can follow along remotely.

Brown expressed appreciation for community engagement ahead of the event. “I also want to thank the many residents across our district who have submitted thoughtful, productive questions for next week’s hearing. Your input is critical to this process and ensures we are addressing the concerns and priorities of the communities we serve,” Brown added.
